Searching Calhoun County Civil Dockets
For a Superior matter, open Georgia Courts E-Access. Pick Calhoun Superior there, which links out to PeachCourt. Understand what each piece is. E-Access is a directory, not a search of every Georgia court at once. PeachCourt needs an account, and the public screen shows only login controls. So no official pre-login list confirms which party-name, date, or status filters wait inside.
If the online route fails, call the Superior Clerk at 229-849-2715. You can also visit 31 Court Street in Morgan, or mail a request to P.O. Box 69. A written Open Records request also works. It covers an existing public record that is not online. Magistrate and Small Claims use 229-849-2115 and P.O. Box 87. The county confirms no public terminal, so ask before counting on one.
- Classify the claim as Superior, Magistrate, Probate, or municipal.
- For Superior Court, use E-Access to reach PeachCourt and sign in.
- Save the case number and verify the party roles and filing date.
- Compare the docket with the latest circuit civil hearing calendar.
- Request the filed order or certified judgment from the responsible clerk.
Calhoun's Two Civil Clerk Paths
Civil disputes in Calhoun County do not sit in one docket. The Superior Clerk keeps major civil, equity, divorce, and other domestic-relations files. The Probate/Magistrate office takes civil claims within Magistrate jurisdiction. That includes the small-claims route up to $15,000. City municipal courts handle ordinance and traffic matters, not general Superior civil suits.
| Matter | Court | Access route |
|---|---|---|
| Major civil or equity | Superior Court | PeachCourt, calendars, Superior Clerk |
| Divorce or domestic relations | Superior Court | Superior Clerk, subject to restrictions |
| Claim up to $15,000 | Magistrate/Small Claims | Probate/Magistrate office |
| City ordinance | Municipal court | Issuing city clerk |
Search the wrong clerk and a live case looks missing. Check which court is named on the complaint, summons, notice, or prior order before anything else.
Inside a Calhoun County Civil Docket
A civil docket is a chronological register, not just a hearing list. The case header should stand apart from each event. It carries the caption, party roles, filing date, assigned judge, and status. Entries then track the complaint, service, answer, motions, notices, orders, settings, and judgment. Costs may follow after judgment. Garnishment, execution, satisfaction, or appeal can come later too.
| Caption | The case style and the roles of the parties. |
|---|---|
| Filing history | Pleadings, motions, notices, and other documents in date order. |
| Setting | The hearing date, time, judge, and matter type where supplied. |
| Order | A ruling that may resolve one issue without ending the whole case. |
| Judgment | The court's final or enforceable decision, subject to later events or appeal. |
The current calendar sample stops short of the details. Filed images, claimed amounts, judgment balances, and a full disposition are not there. Those come from the register or the document itself.
Calhoun Civil Hearings Share a PDF
The South Georgia calendar page publishes a current civil hearing PDF that groups Baker and Calhoun County matters. The sample identifies the county, judge, date, time, case-number or list-position slot, case style, matter type, attorneys, and a removed-or-rescheduled section. It offers useful no-login setting data, but it is not the full Calhoun County civil docket.
The circuit announcements source is shown in this Calhoun civil docket image.

Announcements matter more than they seem. A later court policy can change how a listed hearing must be prepared for, even while the setting stays on the calendar.
Civil Case Types on the Docket
Calhoun County Superior Court holds general jurisdiction over major civil disputes, equity, and domestic relations. Magistrate Court offers only a limited civil path. The docket type drives where you search, which clerk supplies the document, and whether some family material stays out of public view.
- General civil disputes and contract claims within Superior jurisdiction
- Property and equity proceedings
- Divorce and other domestic-relations matters where public access permits
- Magistrate and small-claims matters up to the documented jurisdictional limit
- Post-judgment enforcement and appeal entries tied to the original case
Never classify a case from one calendar phrase alone. Read the complaint, the case header, and the latest order, or ask the clerk which docket holds it.
Removed Is Not Dismissed
The current Baker-Calhoun civil calendar includes a removed-or-rescheduled section. That phrase concerns the setting only. It does not necessarily dispose of the civil action. A hearing can move while the case stays open, and a motion order can settle one issue while other claims continue.
Verify the case event. Check the latest docket entry or signed order before treating a moved hearing as a dismissal, judgment, or settlement.
Two calendar copies conflicting? Use the newest case-specific notice. Then contact the clerk or court coordinator. A general circuit PDF helps with planning, but it is not personal notice to a party.
Civil Docket Settings and Hearings
Read a setting entry field by field. The current Calhoun sample shows a 10:00 setting labeled "Ex Parte Rule Nisi." Rule nisi directs a party to appear and show cause. Ex parte means the request was presented without all parties participating at that first stage. Those words name the type of matter, not the final result. They are not the outcome itself.
- Hearing date and time
- When the listed matter is expected to be called, subject to later change.
- Judge
- The judicial officer assigned to that calendar or matter.
- Case style
- The caption used to identify the parties.
- Setting type
- The issue to be heard, such as a rule nisi, motion, or pretrial matter.
- Removed or rescheduled
- A calendar status that requires a new date check, not an inferred dismissal.
One procedure note deserves attention. Beginning September 1, 2025, a circuit memorandum says the court no longer procures a designated reporter for monthly civil hearing dates. A party who wants a reported hearing must procure one. Confirm the current procedure with the court.
Calendar Versus Calhoun Civil Register
The calendar and the civil register answer different questions. A calendar confirms when and why a matter is set. The register shows what was filed and ordered over time. After login, PeachCourt may provide a document image where court coverage allows, while the clerk supplies the official file and certified copy.
| Product | Best use | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Circuit calendar | Date, time, judge, setting type | Not a full filing history |
| Civil docket | Chronology of filings and court events | May not include each image in public view |
| Filed document | Exact motion, order, pleading, or judgment | May require provider or clerk access |
| Certified copy | Clerk-attested reproduction | Current local fee must be confirmed |
A screen view is never automatically certified. Ask for certification by name when that is the product you need.
Calhoun Civil Docket Access Rules
Civil docket files in Calhoun County are mostly public. Still, a judge's order, a statute, or a court rule can close part or all of one. Papers from divorce and other domestic cases often hold protected data. Juvenile and adoption material sits under its own confidentiality rules, so treat it with care. If a provider search comes back empty, remember that a restriction, a court-selection gap, or thin indexing could be the reason rather than a missing case. For denied access, Georgia's official Open Records request guidance walks through the steps.

Send the clerk a written request. Keep it specific, and if access is denied, ask which legal exemption applies.
Public Access to Civil Dockets
Two rules do most of the work here. Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 and Rule 21.6 set out when court records can be restricted. They also cover how a sealing request proceeds. Georgia's Open Records Act covers inspection and copying, how fast an office must respond, and which exemptions apply. Filers and their counsel carry redaction duties too. They must strip protected identifiers from filings under the applicable court rules.
When no result appears: ask whether the matter is sealed, juvenile, in Magistrate Court, indexed under another caption, older than online coverage, or absent from the provider.
For a certified copy of a Superior Court judgment, go through the Superior Clerk. Calhoun County publishes no current fee schedule for plain copies or certifications, so call first. Confirm the cost, the turnaround time, how payment is accepted, and whether storage retrieval is needed before you mail any funds.
